USCMAS National Registry

The USCMAS National Registry is used to provide recognition and listing of true Professionals in the Martial Arts Industry.  You cannot simply buy a membership to the registry.  We only support the elite of the Martial Arts industry by way of a 4 step evaluation process.  The goal of our members is to meet the highest level of Standards and provide only the best Martial Arts instruction available.  By taking part in the process and meeting the required standards for membership your students will know they are receiving quality training and reputable ranking.

We only accept the best and brightest Martial Arts Professionals, in saying that it is understood that not all applications will be approved.  When you begin the process of evaluation you will go through 4 steps.  If you are approved you will receive an e-mail notification of your approval with Certifications to follow in 2 to 3 weeks by standard mail.  Because of our evaluation process you will receive two Certifications the first being your National Registry Membership and the second is your Rank Certification (for Dan ranks) in your system of Martial Arts.  If you are applying for membership in a non-traditional system of Martial Arts you will also have the option to receive a National Certification of your new system for an additional processing fee.  With that being said if your application is declined you will also receive notification by e-mail.  If you receive a denial notice it will also contain a list of the items or areas that did not meet the required standards of the USCMAS with directions on how to correct the issues and meet the proper standards.  Our goal is not to turn away Martial Artists and/or Instructors, it is to help you/them reach the Professional Standards which the students are paying for.

The Evaluation Process

In this process we will review and research 4 points to include your history, rank(s), curriculum and technical skill.

Step One:

To begin the evaluation, contact us directly for application

Step Two:

For this step you do not have to do anything.  The USCMAS Registration Staff will begin to research your history by checking and/or contacting instructors, systems, co-workers, time lines (time in Martial Arts training and ranking) and any other references you provide to help verify your training.  Time lines are very important as you will not be approved as a 5th Dan or higher (Master) with only 10 years of training.  We use 2 formulas for Dan ranking time requirements.  The first is 1 year per Dan level, this means you will spend 2 years as a 2nd Dan before you are allowed to promote, which is the most common method.  The second formula is 3 years at each Dan level; this is less common however it still provides a justifiable base.  USCMAS will use the formula that is best suited for the applicant.  Once the formula is assigned to the application we will always use that formula for future evaluations.

Step Three:

For this step you will be asked to supply a written copy of your testing requirements from White to Black Belt and needed Dan levels.  You will need to provide this in “Word” format for review.  Please do not send a printed copy.

In this step we are not saying what you should or should not be training/ teaching.  We are simply reviewing your curriculum to verify that it is a complete system.  There are many systems and many techniques in Martial Arts, this we understand.  What we are looking for is full complete material from White to Black belts with graduating points of review.

Step Four:

(This step is only for new systems and / or applications that need more review)

In this final part of the evaluation we will ask you to send in a “RAW” uncut video of you demonstrating the complete curriculum to your rank level.  This is to review the aspect of your ability and knowledge.  We are not judging you we are simply checking to make sure you know the material required by your curriculum for the rank you are holding.  This can be sent in on CD in Windows Media Player format, Quicktime format, Realplayer format, Nero, etc. or on VHS.

Note:  If your are a Certified Instructor with the USCMAS it is not required to send in steps 3 or 4 when registering your students unless it is for a Dan Ranking.  Also you do not need to send in steps 3 or 4 when reregistering an additional rank promotion with USCMAS .
