Choonbi Position


Movement 1

  • turn 90° left, moving left foot into a left back stance
  • double knife-hand middle block (left hand forward) (Sonnal Momtong Makki)

Movement 2

  • step forward with right leg into a right forward stance
  • (left arm palm block--move palm to this position before executing next move, nearly simultaneously)
  • right hand middle spear-hand stike (palm vertical) with left hand supporting right arm. (Pyonsonkeut Seweo jjiruki)

Movement 3

  • turn 180° right, moving right foot into a right back stance
  • double knife-hand middle block (right hand forward)

Movement 4

  • step forward with left leg into a left forward stance
  • (right arm palm block)
  • left hand middle spear-hand stike (with right hand supporting left arm)

Movement 5

  • turn 90° left, moving left foot into a left forward stance
  • left arm knife-hand high block, with simultaneous right hand out-to-in high knife-hand strike (palm-up) (Jaebipum Mokchigi/"neck cut")

Movement 6-1

  • right leg front-snap kick

  • step down with right foot into right forward stance
  • left hand middle punch

Movement 7

  • left leg side kick

  • step down with left foot, then
  • right leg side kick

Movement 9

  • turn 270° left, moving left foot into a left back stance
  • left arm in-to-out middle block (fist down, other fist at hip)

Movement 10-1

  • right leg front-snap kick

Movement 11

  • turn 180° right, moving right foot into a right back stance
  • right arm in-to-out middle block, fist-down

Movement 12-1

  • left leg front-snap kick

  • left arm out-to-in middle block

Movement 13

  • turn 90° left, moving left foot into a left forward stance (facing South)
  • left arm knife-hand high block with simultaneous right hand high knife-hand out-to-in strike (Jaebipum Mokchigi)

Movement 14-1

  • right leg front-snap kick

  • step down with right foot into a right forward stance
  • right hand back-fist (attack straight forward from the body, ending in position similar to end of out-in block) (other fist at hip) (Deung Jumeok Apchigi)

Movement 15

  • turn 90° left, moving left foot up and out (to the East) into a left walking stance
  • left arm in-to-out middle block

Movement 16

  • right hand middle punch (stance stays the same)

Movement 17

  • turn 180° right, moving right foot into a right walking stance
  • right arm in-to-out middle block
