Choonbi Position


Movement 1

  • turn 90° left, moving left foot into a left forward stance
  • left arm low block

Movement 2

  • pull the left foot back into a left (90 degree) stance (left foot pointing forward, right foot pointing 90 degrees to side)
  • left hand hammer fist (attack downward, from above head to top of opponent's shoulder, with bottom of hammer fist) (Mejumeok Naeryo chigi)

Movement 3

  • pivot 180° right (on left foot), and move right foot into a right forward stance
  • right arm low block

Movement 4

  • pull the right foot back into a right (90 degree) stance
  • right hand hammer fist

Movement 5-1

  • turn body to left (face North), moving left foot into a left forward stance
  • left arm in-to-out middle block (momtong makki)

5-2

  • right arm out-to-in middle block (momtong anmakki--reverse block)

Movement 6-1

  • right leg front-snap kick

  • step down with right foot into a right forward stance
  • right hand back-fist to the face (attack forward from body, end with elbow bent a little over 90 degrees) (Deung-Jumeok Apchigi)

  • left arm out-to-in middle block

Movement 7-1

  • left leg front-snap kick

  • left hand back-fist to opponent's face

Movement 8

  • step forward with right foot into a right forward stance
  • right hand back-fist

Movement 9

  • turn 270° to the left, moving left foot into a left back stance
  • left hand knife-hand block (right hand in fist at waist)

Movement 10

  • step forward with right foot into a right forward stance
  • right arm

Movement 11

  • turn 180° to the right, moving right foot into a right back stance
  • right hand knife-hand block (left fist at waist)

Movement 12

  • step forward with left foot into a left forward stance
  • left arm out-in elbow-strike, with left fist supported by right palm

Movement 13-1

  • turn 90° to the left, moving left foot into a left forward stance
  • left arm low block

  • left arm elbow-strike (strike the right palm, as if it were the target) (Palgup Pyojeok Chigi)

Movement 17

  • turn 180° to the right, moving right foot into a right forward stance
  • right arm high block

Movement 18-1

  • left leg side kick, with simultaneous left hand side punch

  • step down with left foot into a left forward stance
  • right arm elbow-strike (strike the left palm, as if it were the target)

Movement 19-1

  • turn 90° to the left, moving left leg into a left forward stance
  • left arm low block

  • right leg front-snap kick

  • (before right foot touches ground,) spring forward off left leg into right crossed leg stance (both knees bent, right leg and foot pointing forward, and left leg crossed behind in rear, at 90 degrees to front leg)
  • right hand back-fist
  • Ki-aup!
