Scholarships

PFMA Head Quarters feels it is very important to support our communities and our children.  The old saying goes "anyone can be a parent but it takes a whole community to raise a child".  Here at PFMA we know that every young person needs every chance they can get.

PFMA is working hard to help every young person we can with Scholarships & the Volunteer C.A.R.E. programs.  We are now sponsoring a number of Scholarship programs for martial arts classes.  We except any and all donations for scholarships or to help support the volunteer C.A.R.E. programs.

Scholarship Programs

Income Class Scholarships ~ These scholarships are for financial hardship and are based on income level and number of persons in the house hold.  This program covers 50% of all program related costs and there are a limited number per session.  There are 2 of these scholarships offered for each year.

Full Ride Class Scholarship ~ There is one scholarship of this type awarded every year.  This scholarship is the hardest to get!  The steps to this scholarship include application, letters of rec., an essay, letter of commitment and a review.  Full Ride Scholarships cover all of your class fees, uniforms, sparring gear and equipment for a full year. This scholarship does not include tournament costs.

College Scholarships

Pure Force Regional Scholarship ~ This scholarship will provide tuition assistance to college bound students from the martial arts community for sports, recreation degree or medical based degree programs at Copper Mountain College .  To apply for this scholarship contact us at NTCPFMA@PureForceMartialArts.com

The PFMA Scholarships and C.A.R.E. programs are only possible from the donations and support from our communities and our members.  Please take the time to help support our youth by sending a donation using the link below.  All Donations are used ONLY for C.A.R.E. equipment and Scholarships.

Currently we provide scholarships and discounts to roughly 85% of our student base for many different reasons, mostly financial hardship.  We do this to provide classes that are otherwise not available to our youth.  These programs cover the cost of classes however they are required to step up and earn their scholarship through service, these include; dojo fundraisers, charity events, community service and volunteering.  We have been closely watching our student enrollments, participation and sponsorships and we have found that it is time to re-shape our scholarship programs.  Our current program is running at an expense of $12,150.00 per year or $1012.50 per month.  The support, donations and sponsorships bring in $60.00 per month or $720.00 per year to help this cause.  At this point we are going to be reaffirming the requirements for the scholarship students and provide fewer scholarships. The New Scholarship program will be provided as follows;

Scholarship will continue to help with the cost of;

  • Uniform
  • Standard Class Membership
  • One Clinic per month
  • 2 Testing per year

Scholarship will require students to do the following to maintain in good standing;

  • Help keeping the dojo clean and neat (including helping to maintain the property such as; weeding, raking, picking up trash and cleaning the parking lot)
  • Assist as a volunteer to all Dojo events, seminars, clinics and fundraisers
  • Take part in 2 community service events per year
  • Maintain a high standard of behavior at all times as a representative of  PFMA
  • Re-apply quarterly and maintain up-to-date information.

We try to provide as many programs and as much help to the community as possible however do to dropping donations and support we will be limiting how many scholarships we provide.  Students that do not maintain these requirements will be dropped from the scholarship program.

Please help these programs by donating a small amount or contacting us to volunteer.
